Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry analysis of isotopically heterogeneous uranium materials

چکیده

Abstract A reliable and accurate laser ablation multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-MC-ICP-MS) method was developed for analysis of inhomogeneous samples containing uranium particles or aggregates various enrichments. For the development, a mixed solid standard prepared using 1% 3% 235 U enriched certified reference materials. After screening localization interest, isotopic composition analysed 5-µm sample spot determining accurately precisely constituents. Besides LA-MC-ICP-MS, also measured by large-geometry secondary ion (LG-SIMS) additional verification.

Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry

New analytical techniques for multiparametric characterisation of individual cells are likely to reveal important information about the heterogeneity of immunological responses at the single-cell level. In this proof-of-principle study, laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) was applied to the problem of concurrently detecting 24 lineage and activation markers e...

Spatial distribution of uranium in mice kidneys detected by laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry

The aim of the study is to better understand where uranium deposits in mice kidneys. The spatial distribution of uranium was examined in the kidneys of C57BL/6 mice using laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS). Mice were exposed to varying levels of uranyl nitrate in their drinking water. Calibration standards were developed to allow for semi-quantitative measur...

Analyte response in laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.

The dependence of analyte sensitivity and vaporization efficiency on the operating parameters of an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS) was investigated for a wide range of elements in aerosols, produced by laser ablation of silicate glass. The ion signals were recorded for different carrier gas flow rates at different plasma power for two different laser ablation systems and c...

Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry of Pressed Pellet Surrogates for Pu Materials Disposition

Successful Pu disposition by immobilization in glass or ceramic form requires accurate and precise knowledge of impurity amounts. Analysis of Pu material by conventional liquid nebulization requires dissolution, which is difficult due to a refractory nature of the samples. Laser ablation is a suitable sampling technique for direct analysis of solids. This paper demonstrates the procedures that ...

Imaging mass spectrometry in biological tissues by laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.

Of all the inorganic mass spectrometric techniques, laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) plays a key role as a powerful and sensitive microanalytical technique enabling multi- element trace analysis and isotope ratio measurements at trace and ultratrace level. LA-ICP-MS was used to produce images of detailed regionally-specific element distribution in 20 micro...
